Everything You Need to Know About Wigs

Welcome to our Wig World - we’re so happy to have you here. With over 8 years of wig-wearing experience, we’re thrilled to finally share these vibrantly-coloured, ready-to-style, human hair wigs. But before we dive into the gems, let’s explore everything you need to know about wig wear, care, and maintenance.

Understanding Your Wig
Our wigs are crafted from 100% human hair, meticulously constructed with single-drawn hair to mimic real hair. At 22 inches in length, each wig features an elastic band for a snug fit, and adjustable straps for security.

The lace-front construction ensures a seamless blend with your natural hairline, accommodating to all head sizes with excess lace for the ultimate customisation.

Prepping Your Wig

● Upon receiving your wig, gently brush it out.

● The wig will arrive straight, but feel free to tweak and style it as you please!
● Ensure the fit is comfortable before making any adjustments. If you trim the lace, you can’t return the wig.
● Prepare your natural hair by brushing it back and braiding it into two sections, securing them at the nape of your neck with bobby pins.
● Wear a wig cap to cover your hair and most of your hairline. This will compress your hair and create a base for your wig.

● Adjust the nape straps of your wig for a snug fit. The wig should feel comfortable, but not too tight - just like a bra.
● Trim the lace based on your forehead size and hairline, leaving a small lip for adhesive application if desired, about half a centimetre. You can use chalk or a pencil to make this mark.
● Tweeze the hairline for a more customised look and trim the lace carefully.
Side note: if the lace covers your ears, cut a triangle around each ear for the perfect fit.

Putting on Your Wig

Hold down the wig from the front to your forehand, grab the elastic band with your other hand, and pull it over your head, adjusting until comfortable. Tuck the comb found at the neck of your wig into your own hair. Adjust the lace of the wig to cover all your hair and brush out. You can use a scarf or a hat for added security if you don’t wish to use any adhesives.

For extended wear, apply water-based gel or hairspray (up to 12 hours) or a co-polymer adhesive (up to 72 hours). Make sure to apply your adhesive of choice half a centimetre away from the hairline for proper skin placement. If you’re using a co-polymer adhesive, allow it to turn translucent just like lash glue before attaching the wig. Use a headband or a silk scarf to lock the glue down.

Styling and Maintenance
● To remove the wig, gently lift it off, brush out any tangles, and store it on a wig stand or hat.
● If you applied adhesives, use a damp towel for hairspray or gel or solvent for wig
adhesives, then cleanse the skin with gentle soap and water.

Washing and Storing Your Wig
● Prepare a basin with lukewarm water and colour-safe shampoo.
● No rubbing, just love. Gently dip and swish your wig and allow to soak for 3-5 minutes.
● Rub away any adhesives from the lace.
● Rinse thoroughly with cold water.
● Apply a deep conditioning mask from root to tip, and detangle gently (use the good stuff). Rinse with cold water.
● Squeeze out any excess water and allow the wig to drip-dry over your shower, hanging it by the elastic band to preserve its shape. Warning: colour might leech out, just like dyed hair.
● Once damp, apply your favourite leave-in conditioner and oil for some extra
nourishment.
● Store the wig upright on a stand to maintain its form, minimise shedding, and prolonging its lifespan.
With proper care, we promise you that your Stellari wig will remain vibrant and shiny for countless wearings. Embrace your new alter ego with confidence and get ready to master the art of wig care.
